Droa’s Statement on the Absence of the Georgian Dream at PACE’s Vote on Declaring Russia a Terrorist Regime

On October 13, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe voted to declare Russia a terrorist regime. 100 representatives of member states attended the voting process. 99 of them unanimously declared Russia a terrorist regime, while only one representative abstained.

The representatives of the Georgian Dream, as well as the member of "Citizens" party and the deputy chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Levan Ioselian, did not attend the said vote and therefore did not support the declaration of Russia as a terrorist regime. From Georgia, only Khatia Dekanoidze (UNM) attended the vote, being in favor. This is confirmed by the voting record of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

This step once again emphasizes the loyalty of the Georgian Dream to Putin's regime and the fact that Russia is a natural political and civilizational space for them.

For Georgia, as a state occupied by Russia and a country with a Russian colonial past, this fact and the pro-Russian rule of the Georgian Dream are not only shameful but also risk dragging the country into the ruins of a defeated imperial state. We must do everything we can to reclaim our homeland and guarantee it a place in the Euro-Atlantic family.
